MotoPin Terms of Service
Last updated: 11/8/2026
These terms apply to MotoPin, the GPS pin-drop app for motorcycle riders, available on Google Play (package com.motopin.app), including MotoPin Pro. MotoPin is published by The Unbound Nomad LLC, an Ohio limited liability company ("The Unbound Nomad," "I," "me," "we," or "us").
By installing or using MotoPin, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't install or use the app.
How MotoPin handles your information is covered in the MotoPin Privacy Policy. How to use the app is covered in the MotoPin User Guide.
1. License to use MotoPin
MotoPin is licensed, not sold, to you. I give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use MotoPin on Android devices you own or control, for your own personal use, under these terms.
You may not:
- copy, modify, or create derivative works of the app;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it;
- rent, sell, sublicense, or redistribute it;
- remove or bypass the Pro purchase check or any other technical limits; or
- use the app for anything unlawful.
2. Free version and MotoPin Pro
- MotoPin is free to download and use for up to 5 pins.
- MotoPin Pro is a one-time in-app purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks features including unlimited pins, trips, importing and exporting pins, backup and restore, custom categories, and the floating Pin It button. The current Pro features and price are shown in the app and on Google Play before you buy.
- Pro is tied to the Google account you buy it with. You can restore it on another device signed in to that same account.
3. Payments and refunds
All MotoPin purchases are processed by Google Play, using the payment method on your Google account. I never see your payment details. Refund requests are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policies. If you have a problem with Pro, you can also email me at the address below.
4. Your pins and data
- Your pins, notes, photos, categories, and trips are stored on your phone. MotoPin has no account and no server, and I can't see, recover, or restore your data.
- Uninstalling MotoPin, clearing its storage, or losing or resetting your phone can permanently delete your pins. You're responsible for keeping your own backups with the app's backup and export features.
- Files you share, export, or back up go wherever you choose to send them, under that service's terms.
More detail is in the MotoPin Privacy Policy.
5. Maps, places, and location accuracy
- Maps and nearby place results come from Google (Google Maps and Google Places), with OpenStreetMap as a fallback. Your use of those features is also subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.
- GPS positions, maps, and place names can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date, and a pin can land away from where you actually stopped.
- MotoPin is a tool for recording where you've been. It isn't a navigation, emergency, or safety device. Don't rely on it as your only source of location, navigation, or safety information.
6. Use MotoPin safely
Riding a motorcycle carries real risk of serious injury or death. Use MotoPin in a way that's safe and legal where you ride. You're responsible for how and when you use your phone while riding and for following all traffic laws.
7. Updates and availability
I may release updates that add, change, or remove features, and some updates may be needed to keep using the app. I may stop offering MotoPin at any time. If MotoPin is withdrawn, the app may keep working on your phone, but I can't promise continued updates or support.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using MotoPin at any time by uninstalling it. Remember that uninstalling deletes the pins stored on your phone unless you've backed them up. I may end your license if you break these terms.
9. Ownership
MotoPin, its code, design, icons, and the "MotoPin" and "The Unbound Nomad" names and logos belong to The Unbound Nomad LLC. These terms don't give you any rights to them except the license in section 1.
10. Google Play
These terms are between you and The Unbound Nomad LLC, not Google. Google isn't responsible for MotoPin or its support. Your use of Google Play is also subject to Google Play's terms of service.
11. Disclaimers
MotoPin is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows. I don't promise the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that it will keep your data safe from loss.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Unbound Nomad LLC and its owner won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, pins, or profits, arising from your use of MotoPin. Our total liability for any claim about MotoPin is limited to the amount, if any, you paid for MotoPin Pro. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
13. Your consumer rights
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws where you live that can't be waived by contract.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state courts in Franklin County, Ohio, or the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
15. Changes to these terms
I may update these terms from time to time. The new version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If you keep using MotoPin after a change, you accept the updated terms.
