Privacy Policy

This policy covers the website at unboundnomad.com, run by The Unbound Nomad (Phil Grimes). It explains what information the site collects, why, and who else handles it. The MotoPin app has its own MotoPin Privacy Policy. The rules for using the site, services, and MotoPin are in the Terms of Service.

The short version

  • You don't need an account to use this site, and browsing it doesn't require giving me your name or email.
  • I only get your personal details when you send them to me: through the booking form, the newsletter sign-up, a purchase, or an email.
  • I don't sell, rent, or trade your information.

Information you give me

  • Booking and trip-planning requests. The booking form asks for things like your name, contact details, and what kind of ride you want. I use this to reply to you and plan your ride. The form is run by Jotform, which stores your submission for me.
  • Newsletter sign-up. If you sign up, your email address (and name, if you give it) goes to MailerLite, which I use to send the newsletter. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
  • Purchases. Digital downloads are sold through Gumroad, and some payments go through Square. They handle your payment details; I never see your full card number. I receive what I need to fulfill the order, such as your name and email.
  • Email. If you email me, I'll have your address and whatever you write, and I use it only to reply.

Information collected automatically

  • Analytics. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It doesn't use cookies and doesn't track you across other websites. I only see totals, not who you are.
  • Hosting. The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub may log basic request details such as your IP address for security and operations.
  • Fonts and site scripts. Some text styles load from Google Fonts, and MailerLite's script loads on every page so its sign-up forms work. Both services receive your IP address and browser details when your browser contacts them, and MailerLite may set cookies for its forms.

Third-party services

These companies handle parts of the site and follow their own privacy policies: Jotform (booking form), MailerLite (newsletter), Gumroad and Square (payments), Cloudflare (analytics), GitHub (hosting), and Google (fonts). Links to Instagram, Facebook, Linktree, and other sites take you off unboundnomad.com, and those sites have their own policies.

How I use your information

  • To reply to you and plan, book, and run your ride
  • To send the newsletter, if you signed up
  • To deliver what you bought
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time with the link in any email.
  • Ask me what information I have about you, or ask me to correct or delete it, by emailing the address below.
  • You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings. The site works without them, though the newsletter sign-up form may not.

Children

This site is meant for adult riders and isn't directed at children under 13. I don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I'll post the new version here with an updated date.
